Marriage

All couples will be offered Marriage preparation. Lay Pastoral Assistants will sometimes help with this.

As many couples are looking around the Team Churches a Bishops Direction has been obtained. This allows any couple from within the Team to be married in any church in the Team. For those outside the Team the normal procedures are to be followed.

In the Team there will be a service of Thanksgiving for Marriage to give couples the opportunity to renew their marriage vows.

Where divorcees are seeking remarriage the clergy will discuss the issues involved with each couple, using the Diocesan guidelines as a set procedure, and pastorally assisting all couples to find the right way forward.

The names of those who have been married in our churches will be held on a database at the Team Office.
