Woodborough

Saint Mary Magdalene, Woodborough

Priests were appointed to the parish at least by the reign of Richard I (1189-1199) and perhaps the first explicit mention of the church was recorded in 1258.

It is likely that two earlier church buildings in succession have occupied the site of the present one.

In 1835 Reverend W T Wyld, then aged 29, took the living and held it for 37 years.
