Team log. Posted by Dave Massey on Monday, 5 July 2010 at 04:52 PM. The July/August 2010 edition of our team magazine, The Messenger, is now available (see below)! Posted by Anne Mantle on Monday, 5 July 2010 at 04:51 PM. We would like to say a big thank you to everybody who helped with the Christian Aid collecting and counting this year, particularly Sally‑Ann‑Ward the treasurer who sorts the counting and Gift Aid.
From the total collected there was about £1750 Gift Aided which will raise about another £500 to help those in need - it really does make a difference! Although Christian Aid has an emergency fund and does emergency fundraising to bring aid when there are natural disasters it also works with almost 650 different partner organisations in more than 50 countries, helping people regardless of race or religion, empowering some of the world’s poorest communities to improve their lives. For example, in Kenya money from Christian Aid went to a partner organisation which supported a community group to build sanitation blocks within their settlement - the type of settlement which was called a slum. To all the people who contributed by giving money for Christian Aid, it is good to know that your support can change lives and keeps hope of a better future alive. Thank you Anne Mantle, David Thomas Posted by Dave Massey on Tuesday, 1 June 2010 at 11:29 AM. The June 2010 edition of our team magazine, The Messenger, is now available (see below)! We are trying to find potential Lay Pastoral Assistants and, so that anyone who thinks they might be LPA material or who is gently pushed that way by God, incumbents etc can come and find out a bit more about what an LPA is, what an LPA does, what the training consists of and how to formally become an LPA on 10 March 2010 at Burbage Church Hall, opposite All SaintsChurch at Burbage, from 7.30 for a couple of hours. There will be light refreshments provided. This is available to any folk in our 3 Deaneries as a minimum. Team log. |
